GG Caps Reviewed on LeeLou Blogs - Just For Clicks

LeeLou Blogs | Just For ClicksThe GG Cap from Girls and Giggles had a fantastic review on the popular LeeLou Blog - Just for clicks. We appreciate Julie Macdonald's warm post and are glad that her daughter loves her GG Cap. To get your own check out our kickstarter campaign.

Here is some of what Julie wrote:
"OK, these hats are pretty cool. Not only do they have a hole (or two) in the back for your pony tail, they also have a built in hair tie that keeps your hair in place. Best part is that you don’t get ponytail headaches…which I suffer from frequently" To read more, click here.

Huge Shout Out

We had an awesome interview with Hurdie Burk on his radio show last night. He was tons of fun and super easy to talk to. Props to him for helping us get the word out about the GG Caps and Kickstarter! He has a youtube channel where he posted our interview. You can download it to an MP3 player or just listen online.

Photo Shoot Fun!

I personally love having my picture taken (most of the time). So having to constantly update all of our social media sites with pictures is fun! We get to pose in silly ways and just let loose and be crazy. We take probably 25-75 pictures to get 1 good one we can use. I think it's more tiring for the kids, who are the ones taking the pictures! Ha

Here are a few pictures from our most recent photo shoot. Can you handle it...

The "boardroom"

Typically when we think of a boardroom we picture a huge table with business men and women, all in suits, discussing business strategy - Right?

                                                                           WRONG

Our "boardroom" here at Girls and Giggles isn't quite the same. It changes everyday actually, and sometimes every hour! Haha. We frequently have our "boardroom" meetings at the pool, or at the gym after a workout. We've even had "boardroom" meetings at the grocery store while pushing our carts side by side often times throwing groceries in at random, all the while saying, "Stay out of the middle of the aisle, no we're not buying candy, who put this in the cart please don't touch the blood from the cow tongue..." You get the point. Trying to start a successful business while raising all of our amazing kids is hard work. Sometimes we just have to bust out with a crazy dance move or song just to laugh. After all that's what our company is all about - reminding women to have fun!

Girls will be Girls

I must confess that I LOVE BEING A GIRL! At least most of the time. I have always loved the song, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, because at the heart of every girl that really is the truth! We just want to have fun and be silly. That's the wonderful thing about families...we can be crazy silly and nobody judges you. Life gets so crazy that we, as women, moms, daughters, and every other role we play, we forget to have fun! Through this adventure, although it's been difficult at times, we've really laughed so hard, so much, and so often!

Since launching our Kickstarter campaign Friday morning it's been a little...um...nail biting! Very exciting at the same time! Saturday's are full of volleyball and soccer games so we thought it would be difficult to do much work. Luckily we have amazing kids! Luke made pass-along cards with a QR code on the back that takes people to our Kickstarter page. The kids loved passing out the cards during the games and telling people about what their moms were doing! It was really cute to see all these girls in caps, so excited for this business to get rolling! Break for the Sabbath Day and back at it strong tomorrow! Lovin' life

When we make our videos it doesn't just take us one try. Don't we wish! Luke did  a good job editing this so everyone can see the best parts...the endings to all the takes we do!

AND HERE WE GO...WHEEEEEE

We did it! We pushed the green launch button this morning! Actually Andrea pushed it while both of our families counted down from 10 over FaceTime. It was so fun to see how excited all the kids were. They are just as much a part of this whole things as anyone. Go check out our Kickstarter page. I had no idea what Kickstarter was before Andrea and Mom introduced me to it last year. It's such an awesome site. You'll love it and we already know you love the GG Cap! So go pledge. 29 days to go

How late is TOO late to think?

We are SO close to our Kickstarter launch! It's tomorrow everyone! As Napoleon Dynamite would say, "YESSSSS." I think the closer we get the goofier we get. It's a really good thing that there's 2 of us because between us we almost have 1 full functioning brain. If mom were here we would be complete!
We are putting so much time into this and we are all so thankful for the love and patience of our kiddos and husbands. They are great sports and are all great helpers. This has been such a great learning and teaching experience for all us.

Interrogation

This is so typical of me and Andrea! We seriously think we're hilarious. Most people don't know what this Kickstarter thing is that we keep talking about. Of course we couldn't explain it in normal way - that's just boring to us. So we decided to explain it by doing a video of Andrea interrogating me about Kickstarter. We love it and laughed so hard when we watched it. Not so sure our husbands think we're as funny as we think we are. :)

GG Cap Teaser

This is such a fun video! Luke put it together and did a fantastic job. Post this to your FB page, blogs, twitter, and any other place people will see it! It's great.

Just thought you'd want to know

It occurred to me tonight - actually it occurred to my husband - we haven't posted links to our FB page or to our website. Duh! To completely understand just how crazy and fun our company is you must visit all of our websites. Once we get the link for our Kickstarter page we will definitely be posting that. Thanks for all the support so far.

Kickstarter Video Diary

Yesterday we spent HOURS going from store to store trying to find caps we could transform into GG Caps until our Kickstarter campaign has been funded and we can manufacture our own caps. Caps that actually fit our heads, are colorful, blinged out, etc etc. We learned several things throughout the day (and into the night):

  1. There are no fitted, unstructured, colorful caps for women that actually fit smaller heads
  2. The caps offered for women at retailers are few and far between
  3. You are forced to choose between either the cap that's currently trending (which in this case is a hugely hideous flat bill with a mushroom style dome) or various sports teams
  4. We have freakishly small pinheads that allow us to only fit into the toddler/youth caps that are made for 1-4 year olds
At the end of the day we were exhausted and frustrated but with a newfound fire lit under our booties to make the perfect cap for all women! We decided to keep a video diary of our escapades during our month long Kickstarter campaign. We are bringing you all along to have a first hand look into our "boardroom" as we raise our amazing 7 kiddos (combined), homeschool, and grow our kick butt business. All this without losing our morals (and our minds) along the way.

So sit back and enjoy the chaos...I mean ride. Stay tuned for more videos.

Our Solution to A Growing Segment

On August 26, 2009 The New York Times reported a story about the largest manufacturer of baseball caps in the U.S.A., New Era. The basic premise of the story is how the company was adapting to declining sales. Among the actions taken were laying off employees and re-focusing from more lavish designs to simpler, basic designs which were still selling strong. For nearly two decades, women have been outpacing men in sports apparel and equipment spending. Yet the baseball cap industry has largely ignored this growing segment, even in the face of declining sales. This is why the GG Cap is perfect for the market at this time. Women are buying more and more sporting apparel, yet when we interview retailers, we ask them, how many hats to you sell to women. The reply is always, "Not many." When then ask why and they say, "Well, because they have no place to put their hair." The ponytail cap from Girls and Giggles, which we have affectionately named the GG Cap, addresses this issue, and finally provides a solution for women when it comes to choosing a fitted baseball cap that is feminine (not just simply pink), fun and stylish. We are excited to be a part of this. Our patent pending technology will revolutionize this 100 year old industry, and breath fresh air into an otherwise stale and unimaginative product category.
